• Choose colour proofing paper that is able to simulate both colour gamut and paper shade of your printing process

  • Linearise and profile your proofer using the proofing paper in question

  • Make sure you are using correct press ICC-profile for print simulation

  • Use absolute colourimetric rendering to simulate paper shade

  • Use a commonly accepted colour control wedge (e.g. Ugra / Fogra Media Wedge) for quality control

  • Mark your proofs with the results of quality control measurement – this will show the printer that proof can be trusted
